focusing on technical challenges and techniques in IT-Security
Dr. Georg T. Becker is a senior researcher at the Digital Society Institute (DSI) of ESMT Berlin where he does contract research in IT-security. He has many years of research experience in hardware and embedded security (particularly in Hardware Trojans, Side-Channel Attacks and PUFs) and has published his research in major scientific journals and papers. His main research project at the DSI is to find sound technical solutions to assess and compare the security of complex systems and networks.
When he is not working on technical security solutions, he tries to embrace the interdisciplinary nature of the DSI by also participating in more policy focused discussions and workshops. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Master in IT-Security from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany. Before joining the DSI he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Horst-Görtz Institute for IT-Security.
