Melanie Baier is a research associate at the Hidden Champions Institute (HCI). She conducts empirical research on the success factors of internationally leading medium-sized companies (Hidden Champions) with a focus on challenges and opportunities of internationalization and digitization.
Melanie studied economics with a focus on Managerial Economics, Evolutionary Economics and Innovation Management at TU Dresden, where she also completed her doctorate in economics.
Before joining ESMT, Melanie worked as a research associate and MBA program manager at Quadriga University of Applied Sciences Berlin. Prior to that, she worked as a lecturer and research associate at TU Dresden and as research associate in the business development department of C-LAB Paderborn.
